Just out of curiosity… How many popular musicians write their own music? And I don’t mean the lyrics- composing the actual song. In other words, is it common for bands or artists to have songs written for them by other people?

It kind of bothers me that stars like britney spears are just handed the music track and lyrics, and make millions of dollars from it. IKD, just my opinion.

I’m thinking about what to major in college, and I would love to work around music. At the same time, there is a recession, and I don’t know if there will be that many jobs in 5 years that accept and use music management majors. Also, how good is the pay for people that work with music business? Should I get a double major, and also major in something else? Any suggestions will be gladly accepted, thank you.

You could be a teacher. My mother currently has a PhD in Music Theory / Composition (I’m not entirely sure which), and she’s having a hard time finding a job. She’s looking in nearly every place from Maine to California. HOWEVER, she does have trouble speaking English which may be a disadvantage that you don’t have.

I have been using TDK 52X CDR, but many of my clients are now giving me feedback that the music sounds "scratchy" on their players. Since I will always be distributing these CDs to many listeners with many different playback devices I would like to know which brands i should be looking at.

I listen to a college radio station here in Cleveland, OH called Ravers Edge but I always seem to miss the names of the artists they play after hearing a good beat. I am not into the songs with lyrics, I just like the songs where the beat is cool and makes me want to dance. Can someone help me out and give me the names of some good techno and/or industrial music artists? Please no lyrics…just beats. Not the cheesy typical club stuff either. Thanks!

ATB is another good artist. He has some good instrumentals but yes there are a few of his songs with lyrics. Preview some of his stuff on last.fm

My dad cleaned out the laptop, all my music is in my ipod not on the computer. Nearly all my music is off of limewire, and i want the album art for the songs, but i need my music to go to the main Music folder in Itunes. How do i put that music there?

I spent a lot of money buying a ticket to a popular concert that I’m no longer able to go to. I’m really stressed out because people tell me that big tickets like mine don’t sell easily when the show is a few days away.
