    OMG I have chills! He is one of if not the best rock and blues player of all time. Just my opinion but I know what he does for me. This video shows him at his best he doesn’t get older he just keeps getting better. He is the only one who can make that guitar sing like an angel

    This is EC’s …
    This is EC’s element. He is a great blues player. When outside the blues arena not the greatest, but in it, he’s up there. A different kind of blues player than SRV but both of these guys are great. He is one of the all time best blues players. Great voice too, many other guitarists just play but his singing is an added dimension to his greatness. All so a great song writer.

    When he’s bad, he’s …
    When he’s bad, he’s very bad, but when he’s on form like this, there is no one in the world who can touch him – not even BB. Every gut-wrenching note he plays cries out straight from the heart. Blues at its very, very best.

    @74LesPaul
    Dude! When you are that good, and experianced, there are no rules!
    EC invented himself, and if playing totally wrong, who is to say he is wrong.
    Whatch how former guitar teacher Mark Knopfler plays, is that wrong too?

    BB …

    @bluesdog2005
    BB King once introduced EC to a concert as his freind and the world’s best player.
    I think playing is only part of it, it is his inward battles, that he has beat, and his personality that adds to his playing.

    He plays the blues, as he lived the blues.

    I only started playing guitar after hearing the many styles of Clapton.
    I now have, and play, three Strats,

    EC has taken a …
    EC has taken a three chord progression and elevated it to an art form unmatched by any other blues musician, past or present. That is as true of his vocals as it is of his guitar playing. I say that as a dedicated blues fan and an admirer of all the blues greats. When I see a performance like this one, it makes me wonder why he even bothers to play any other music. He is more than a blues master. He is a blues god.

    Dude the finger …
    Dude the finger movements are just a technique to pick faster. Cycling movement… The arm movement is like an accented note. gives a raw sound when you pick a string with an entire arm movement because you end up hiting the string below it giving it a raw bluesy sound…. if that makes any sense

    I reckon Rory Gallagher is way better than Clapton. But your right, BB King kicks their asses. Blues boys tune is epic..

    To add. . there are …
    To add. . there are times when he seems to pick from his arm, more than his wrist. . he also uses his fingers for movement (picking hand). Teachers typically teach wrist movement only. . correct? (What I was taught).

    I like his voice …
    I like his voice alot more as he gets older. Getting some seasoning in his pipes now. His guitar playing has always been cool but can’t say he is the best. BB gonna always get my vote there. Very cool though and this cat played some cool rock licks back in his early years so props for that.

    His blues voice is great. Of course his guitar is golden but that’s like saying water is wet. If he ever comes to my city to perform, I’m there.

    Look at the finger …
    Look at the finger movement of the picking hand, and a guitar instructer years ago told me that I should not do that! What did he know?
