What is some good Classical/Piano music to fall asleep to?

March 13th, 2010 admin 1 comment

Recently i have really been into classical music as well as piano. I just can’t seem to get enough of it. Does anyone have any good suggestions to some good music. Im looking for something that is good to fall asleep to, soothing and calm.

Bach’s Lullaby is well-known as a lullaby.
Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2. (Chopin)
Salut D’Amour (Elgar)
Claudine (Maxim)
Also check Baby Einsteins, it usually contains classical lullabies.

What is the best piano music score site?

March 2nd, 2010 admin 1 comment

I play the piano, and sometimes would like to find piano scores for songs that I like. These range from classical music, to soundtracks, to sung songs. What is a good website for piano sheet music?

The best place to find sheet music of all types is SheetMusicPlus.com. They have a yearly sale on Henle editions, and a huge selection of sheet music of all types. Also, they have very inexpensive shipping ($2.00).

piano/music?

Why do you think composers of this era wrote more for piano than harpsichord? Compare the piano to the expressiveness of the harpsichord in the Baroque era as in Brandenburg Concerto.

Which era are you referring to that produced more piano music than for harpsichord? Baroque? Anyway, the piano wasn’t invented until the early 1700’s when it became a sensation because performers could play it softly or loudly. That’s why it was originally called a pianoforte. Music is all about contrasts, and the piano made it easier.

How can I convert my piano music into sheet music on my laptop to print off?

February 24th, 2010 admin 2 comments

Ok. Is there anything I could possibly hook up to my piano or even a type of microphone or any type of technology out there where I can record my music I play on my piano and then it will convert it to music notes on music sheet paper through my laptop? I know I’ve seen it and movies and probably recording studio where they play the piano and the music notes appear on the computer screen on sheet music.

there is a program called cake walk and you have to buy a keyboard, hook it up to your laptop, and when u play, the notes appear on the screen. Also i could reccomend Finale. the downside is that calk walk is about $400.

can anyone tell me some pieces of piano music, (just piano) with a real haunting sound to it, or can be used for like a tribute to 9/11 type of video

Well I have music that can be used for a tribute.

Yiruma – (something like "river flows in you")

How to turn piano music sheet into guitar tab?

February 15th, 2010 admin 5 comments

is it possible? on the piano music sheet there are two measures which im guessing one is for one hand and the bottom one is for the other hand but how can i make this work into tablature for guitar?

I would download Guitar Pro, preferably version 5.

It’s a little time consuming but you can put the notes in the staff and then view it so you can view the tablature. You can print it and have only the TAB appear on the sheet.

hope that helps, message me if you’re confused.

you can also insert chords for guitar.

How can I play piano by ear by listening to music on the radio?

February 10th, 2010 admin 5 comments

I can play by ear by listening to piano music, but it’s difficult for me to play by ear if the song doesn’t have a piano in it. Like I can play Apologize by One Republic by ear because it has piano in it.

How can I play by ear listening to a song that doesn’t involve piano? For example a Britney Spears song? Can I find a teacher to help me play songs by ear or do I have to teach myself with practice? Would it be easier if I learned chords? Thank you.

1) Record the song (if needed)
2) get the hang of the main tune in it such that it will come out naturally when you play it
3) Improvise on your accompaniment

The more frequent you practice it this way the better it will sound and soon your playing will be standardized…thats when you can start notating what you play
