There are plenty of up and coming jazz influenced bands that you might like and people may think of as more ‘exciting’. I would recommend an artist called Gabby Young and Other Animals. Her website is http://www.gabbyyoungandotheranimals.com and you can pre order her new album and get loads of goodies like gig tickets and signed merch with it

Yeah, I'm a teenager and I've loved jazz for over 5 years, it seems a bit weird to people at first, but nobody really cares, as long as you enjoy the music. I don't find it boring at all, it's an adventure. Coltrane, Miles, Monk, Kelly, Lewis, the list is endless, They're all great!

uum yea it is normal i like some jazz- like music too, and sorta off the topic but my friend likes to listen to classical music played backwards (im not sure where she finds it or why she likes it but everyone is different =])
