Why is it that rappers don’t use jazz sounds in their rap music anymore?

I remember when jazz music was always used in rap. I don’t hear that anymore. Rap music doesn’t sound the same anymore.

Actually, there are way more hip hop artists incorporating jazz into their music nowadays than ever. Jazz hip hop is one of the largest alternative subgenres of hip hop.

For instance, this album just came out a few months ago and is as good as any jazz hip hop record I’ve heard.

You just have to know where to look.

Yeah it’s definitely used way less. There are quite a few underground groups that still use jazz beats and jazz samples but for the mainstream it seems to be bass all the way.
