Why does live music sound so much worse than studio recorded music?

I am not such a big fan of live music, some of it is good, but why is it that the studio recorded music sounds that much better? Do the singers, have a different way to vocalize???

sound engineers have control over the "room" the "space" and complete ability to mold and shape sound in that room, lots of takes, lots of layers, etc.

Live, they have to deal with the acoustics of a club or hall, noise, Its live, no alternate takes and less opportunity to layer the sound, especially when they are recording amplifiers or using open mics.

A studio recorded version is fine tuned. They play around with the vioces and make them sound better when in real life, that is not there true ability. the really good singers are the ones that sound good live and in the studio. A bad singer sings good in the studio (because the voice has been tuned and changed with technology) but horrible live. I find that many popular artist are not good live and that the ones who are, are not well known.

The above answers are right in the technical aspect, but there is the possibility that the artist isn’t talented and that’s why they sound much worse live.
