Why do some rock musicians like to wear rosaries especially if they are NOT religious people?
Many of these musicians have tattoos and behave in an outrageous manner, they are not your typical image of a devoted Catholic. Usually Catholics wear rosaries because they hold Catholicism and its ideals in high esteem. I do not understand why these musicians would wear these rosaries since wearing them sends out a strong message of ones religious affinity to the church. For us Catholics, wearing a rosary carries a strong significance and these reckless musicians contradict themselves by wearing an object which represents the complete opposite of how they handle themselves.
While some see wearing rosaries and other religious items as a fashion statement or to show contradiction to religion, many see the religious items as amulet to protect from evil/evil eye.

Quite a bit of the religious accoutrement are very artistic or at least aesthetically pleasing. I used to have a picture of the Last Supper made out of sugar cane and imported from the Philippines. I’m an atheist but I’m not blind to art.

Because some are very beautiful. Anyone can wear what they choose to wear, and if a rosary is something they admire, it doesn’t hurt to wear it. I seldom see Catholics wear rosaries. They pray the rosary though, and I doubt rock musicians do that, but who knows. I don’t think that what you wear sends out strong messages of any religious connotation. I would say it’s best to let it go. They are material things, and shouldn’t be of concern to us. As a Christian I see many crosses being worn by non-Christians. It isn’t my concern why they do so.

Blessed rosaries should never be worn around the neck. They are a sacred item. Rock stars wear them BECAUSE of this- to mock the church.
Talk to a priest about it (wearing rosaries). They are made to be prayed upon, not as a fashion statement, or to we worn as jewelry.
