What do you look for in a nightclub, and what is the most important feature?

What do you look for in a nightclub? What type of music? Lighting? A single bar table or scattered mini-bars? Is availability of food important? Do you go just to dance, hang out with friends, or meet new people? Smoking or non? What is the single most important feature? I’m just looking for general opinions on the matter. Something to help me focus my ideas and efforts.

being able to talk somewhere a little quieter if you have to.

Girls, girls girls. If there aren’t many girls, the whole vibe of the bar is thrown off. People get crabby when there are very few girls, especially the girls because they get harassed when they are an extreme minority.

Jeez, lots of things count for me…as your after the single most important……….

    The cleanliness of the bathroom/washroom/loo.

Doesn’t matter how good everything else is. A venue is not getting my money if they are too arrogant to think they don’t have to keep the "facilities" clean.

Music, lighting, (food and drink)specials etc are all based around getting people through the door and getting their money…but the cleanliness of the loos tells me how much they actually care about their customers and how much they want to keep them!
